Constant bleeding with birth controlFrom: sophia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Sep 23 13:45:17 2008
I had surgery back in may to remove what was thought to be a cyst from my clitoral area but after the biopsy it was learned that it was actually a small piece of endometriosis. I am 28yrs old and my obgyn recommended that I start taking birth control continuously to stop my period so that the lining would not continue to grow and therefore reduce my risk of developing endometriosis in the future. The problem is I have tried 4 types so far and had continuous bleeding on all of them. Just today my doctor prescribed 0.5mg of Estrace to stop the bleeding. After reading about this estrogen replacement drug I am not sure this will help my situation considering a common side effect is break through bleeding. I also read that Progestin should be taken with this drug. Any help with this situation would be greatly appreciated.
