How long is the abdominal discomfort supposed to last after lap?

It is now my 4th day since my Laparoscopy surgery and I was wondering if it's normal to still have discomfort in the abdominal area? I feel a very uncomfortable pain in the middle of my stomach (like between my ribcage) & it just spreads throughout my whole abdominal area. I still haven't had a bowel movement. The heavy bleeding I've been having seems to be settling down. I'm still bleeding, but not as heavy, but it's not light either. I probably shouldn't be bleeding at all if I'm on depo provera pills (progesterone 5mg) & still waiting for a response from the doctor. The pain is just very uncomfortable like I'm indigested & I get sweaty around my face & chest. I don't know if this is a big deal or not that would give me reason to go to the ER..also since my doctor should reply by tomorrow (Mon). I don't want to sound like the whiny patient who's making a big deal out of nothing. If the pain was excruciating, of course I'd be headed to the ER, but it is manageable. Thank you in advance for any replies.
