My urologist proposed me to take elmiron 100 mg 3 x daily elavil 25 mg at night detrol ls 2 x daily I dont feel comfortable taking elmiron and tried to express this to the urologist. However he said these drug regimens are the only option and would not discuss further with me any alternatives. He did offer the bladder instillations of catheterization and 3 meds placed in the bladder 1 a week for 8 weeks. Have any of you tried this? did it help? My symptoms are pain with full bladder, as well as when I urinate, frequent urination. When I wake in the night with needing to go the pain is unbearable and lasts beyond when I urinate. And when I get the urge to go its one of those got to go right then or else I feel as though I will have an accident. Sorry if TMI.
