Endo + Adenomyosis and the contraceptive pill

Hi, I have endometriosis and adenomyosis. I have had about 5 lap scopes over the last 7 years. After my last lap scope (now about 2 years ago), I started having severe periods with lots of clots. My dr has said we should do a laparotomy. He says this is my last chance. I don't have children yet and would love to have a baby. I am 34 years old. We have decided to postpone the operation because I will be getting married in January and then we can start with planning a family. In the interim my dr suggested that I go on the contraceptive pill to avoid any further periods until we can do the operation. I have now been taking the pill for 2.5 months and have not stopped bleeding one day. It is not a lot, but it is there and I am hating every minute of it. It feels as if I was better of with my 5 to 7 days of hell, rather then this. My dr says I must give it some time. I have also started having terrible pain in my sides, it was so bad on saturday I could not sleep. Can anyone tell me if they have experienced something similar or if they have found the pill working after a couple of months? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you very much. Kind regards
