I think you should really think this through, but I have heard of women that get a hystorectomy and the endo has come back.. I would get a second opinion, my first DR, really gave me the same answers your Dr.gave me but my 3rd opinion (my new Dr) has been great and I feel much better now after a second Lap... talk to other people and look for other DR. I have a great one if you are in New York.
