Some women I know who have taken continuous birth control do experience bleeding for awhile. If the bleeding is heavy, I would tell my doc. If he tells you it's normal, then maybe you can switch birth control pills.

Did you call your doc about the extreme pain? What did he say? I would definitely set up an appointment with him and see what he says, maybe switching bcps or another hormone treatment (like progesterone only) can be used.
