Re: Hot flashes not related to menopause

Hot flashes at a young age could indicate something is going on.
I would ask you doctor to do a 'hormone profile' which would measure
your
hormones, esp. the estrogen level, but also the testosterone level.
It could be that your ovaries are prematurely failing, but that
would be easily found if they measured your estrogen level.
Premature ovarian failure does happen in younger people, but it
is rare. Try to get a complete physical workup & examine your
thyroid as well.
Also, do you think it could be something you ate, like for instance,
if you eat something with a lot of sodium (salt), do you feel like this?
You could be having an allergic response to something or your
body just doesn't handle certain minerals or foods well.
You can experiment with your diet. Do you drink a lot of coffee or
caffeine?
This can make your heart beat fast, and sometimes when your
heart works harder, you can sweat and then get cold.
Also, sometimes when you are in severe pain or lose blood, your
heart can beat faster & you can feel hot, then cold.
Even if you have a small amount of endo, and that endo leaks into
your pelvic cavity, your body may respond to it by feeling weak, shaky,
sweaty, then cold.
So there could be a lot of reasons for it.
Try to get to a doctor and tell them your symptoms and ask for a hormone
profile.
