Mirena IUD & Pelvic physical therapy??

Hello everyone!

I just discovered this place, thank god! Finally somewhere to figure this all out! I've just come from my GYN who has referred me for a new type of treatment for my endometriosis (discovered 3 years ago), adenomyosis (discovered today), interstitial cystitis (discovered a year ago) & pelvic floor myalgia (discovered today). The reason? For the past month and I half I've been bleeding (constantly, heavy & light), experienced nausea after eating and hot flashes. I had a laparoscopy last August with laser & a bladder hyperextension & instillation for IC. I have been on continous use BC to suppress my periods (first Levlen, then Nortrel) which worked for a period of time, but now is failing miserably. Everything in my abdomen is swollen.

I previously tried taking estrogen to stop the bleeding (my uterine lining is literally a milimeter thick, if that). Didn't work. Ultrasound showed nothing fishy either than a probable adenomyosis which would explain the bleeding. My gyn recommended going off continous use pills and trying the Mirena IUD. I immediately googled it and found many horror stories (of course) though the women reporting them did not have endo or adenomyosis. Has anyone ever went on it for endo/adeno? How was it? How was the pain with periods?

Also, my gyn has recommended physical therapy to strengthen my pelvic muscles and treat the spasms being triggered by all of my problems. Has anyone ever tried that and been successful?

My options are pretty limited as I've tried everything (it seems) and I'm only 24 so a hysterectomy is out of the question. Please help a sister out!

Thank you all.
