Re: adenomyoma/pregnacy

I had two doctors who wanted to remove the fibroids, the first one in the beginning, the other one towards the end when I had a lot of problems. For some reason I had faith in that doctor and was fine during surgery. The surgery was rough, though, so I wish I had chosen to use progesterone before, to try to shrink them.

I had 3 or more doctors who told me I shouldn't even try to have the fibroids removed. So it does depend on the skill of the doctor, and if he or she does this kind of surgery often. Too many doctors rely on meds today to try to shrink them, so often they don't have the skill. If a doctor feels he or she can't remove it, then I'd get other opinions.

That is a large fibroid, and I can't see trying to carry a pregnancy with it. Mine were already pressing on my bladder and causing other problems.

Please look into the things you might do to shrink it, but watch it closely and don't let it get larger without looking into something...I didn't know much about adhesions back then, and after the surgery, my organs got adhered and caused me problems. I wish I had known more about progesterone earlier, there is evidence it can help shrink fibroids. A lot of women over 35, when progesterone levels start to dip get them. I'm not saying it's the answer for anyone - but in my experience, I would have loved the chance to try, and not go through the surgery and then the adhesions, which were later removed in another surgery!!!!

good luck
