I know, it's hard. My fibroids were growing some years ago, and the doctor put me on the pill to deal with the mid-cycle bleeding. At first, he was going to recommend one, and then I said, ''will that help reduce them?" He went like ''oh yeah - good idea!" and gave me a different one! Now why didn't he pay attention to that in the first place?! Why did I have to ask, to double check him?!! Why ask why? :)

I can't tell you which ones are good and which ones are bad for trying to help shrink them...I would assume your doctor gave you one that might help shrink fibroids. Maybe double check? Mine did not shrink, continued to grow and I had to have them removed when I found someone I trusted. The first doctor actually did not feel he had the skill to remove them where they were. I had them removed, and have used progesterone. It's been many years and they have not returned.

I would be wary of TTC right now. They can be a real problem, I've been told, in carrying a child. I also just had so many problems, and they didn't shrink. Strangely, though, the progesterone in pregnancy might help them shrink! My sister had smaller fibroids and they didn't affect her pregnancies at all.

Perhaps you can work on lowering some estrogen, such as cutting out red meats, chicken with hormones in them. Same with milk. Cut down on sugar. See if there's any way the fibroid will shrink. I used progesterone, but I wasn't on the pill when I used it. You wouldn't use them both at the same time. I had low progesterone, and I feel that supplementing progesterone, and cutting out some high-estrogen items, has kept them from returning. My doctor has been impressed that they didn't return, she was pretty sure they would.

I have read that adenomysosis is not supposed to affect fertility. What does your doctor think?
