Re: Is anyone taking Yaz, or know anything about it...

My gyn started me on Yaz 2 weeks after I had my lap in December where I
was first diagnosed with endo. She described it as a "mild" new BCP.
The first few days I was taking it I began to have frequent palpitations
and actually woke one night having what I think was an anxiety attack
(never had one before). Six days after starting the Yaz I developed
welts over every single inch of my body--head to toe, and even in places
I don't dare to mention. I had to go on prednisone for 6 days and the
even then the welts didn't completely disappear until day 3. I have
never, ever reacted to any drug before in my entire life. I have a new
gyn now who told me that Yaz and Yasmin have an estrogen in them that is
completely different than any other BCP and that it is chemically
related to a diuretic called spironolactone. She told me that I
shouldn't take either drug in the future. I don't know how widespread
this type of reaction is to Yaz, but the whole episode really scared me.
