April Re HysterectomyFrom: niki (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Jul 7 21:20:20 2008
Im having a hysterectomy as well. I spoke with my dr today and what we had decided to do is go with natural hormones not the synthetic hormones. I will be having everything removed both ovaries, tubes, uterus, cervix as well as apendix. He had explained that the natural hormones are closer to what the ovaries produce and that we can basically taper them as needed such as add more progesterone take away estrogen add testosterone etc. It also has a lower incidence of cancer as synthetic you risk certain cancers. I would do what you feel most comfortable doing. I have decided this is what is best for me. And I feel at peace with my decision. I will be having an abdominal incision and will also be having an abdominoplasty at the same time. Figure if im losing my women parts after 16 years of dealing with endo Im gonna look pretty afterwards LOL Good Luck with your decision and If you wanna talk you can email me.
