One missed pill...horrid pain!From: Gattuch (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue May 27 13:35:19 2008
I was diagnosed with endometriosis when I was about 20, I had surgery when I was 23 and things were ok for while. I am now 28 years old and have been on continuous use birth control to help control the endo. Over the past few months I have been bumped up on the strength of the hormones a couple of times. I am finally on a dose that seems to be helping. This last week I had an issue with my pharmacy and they wouldn't allow me my refill like I am suppose to get. I take my pill every morning around 8am but on Sunday I didn't have my pills to take. By 2pm in the afternoon I was curled up in a ball and I felt as if my right ovary was going to burst. Is it really possible that within 24 hours of a missed hormone pill I could feel that much pain? If it is, does it mean that my endo is more than likely back and worse than I thought it was? I thought as long as I continued the pills and they were helping that it meant it wasn't that bad. I have missed a pill here and there in the past but I have never gone through that pain. I will say that the reason my dosage was bumped up a couple of times was because of that pain on the right side. I am finally at a dosage that gets rid of that pain. I just don't know if I am covering something up with the meds. They aren't pain pills so I don't see how I could be covering it up. Or does it mean that I am just barely keeping this disease under control? I have had cramps this last month even when on the pill, nothing too serious for the most part. Although there was the one day where is was so bad that if I exhaled, it would immediatly cramp up again. That lasted for about 5 minutes, it was the worst thing I had ever been through. Any advice? Any thoughts? I do see my OBGYN next month.
