Hey Nellie,

My right ovary was attached to the back of my uterus, and as a result it displaced/tilted my uterus. Both my ovaries were covered in endometriomas (sp?). My right ovary had a huge chocolate cyst on it, and the cyst was actually bigger than my uterus. My RE did a laparoscopy, drained the cyst, irrigated the ovary, and used a harmonic scalpel to seperate my ovary and uterus. It's been a couple of weeks after the surgery and I can still feel my organs shifting to their proper places. It's a weird feeling!

It was a real surprise when my RE told me all of this because I've never had pain on my rights side. I always had pain on the left. As it turned out, my left ovary was adhered to my bowel -- my RE just left it there, though.

I can't really tell you much else. My fallopian tubes were tested with a blue dye, and they are both working (even the left adhered one). Before surgery I had no clue that my ovaries and uterus were attached to other organs, or that my uterus was so displaced (which explains the painful pelvics).

Talk to you doctor. He or she should be able to answer any of your questions or concerns. Go for some tough questions too! I try to pin my RE down so he doesn't circle or sugarcoat things.

Goodluck with everything!
