hysterectomy for adeno--have/will you?

hi all- i finally made the call to schedule my hyst., figuring i can always cancel, right? i'm having a hard time committing to this being the right thing to do--probably b/c there's no absolute diagnosis for adeno (mri, etc is out of the question) and it's not reversible! i'd like to hear from others who faced the same decision and post-hysterectomy stories to help me decide! here's my story: i started noticing my periods were coming closer and closer together about 3-4 years ago. it progressed to having pms pain almost all month long, sometimes so similar to contractions i'd do lamaze! 4 advil helped a bit, and i was taking a LOT of advil for a while. one month i even stopped bc all together and was bed-ridden with the pain. i was also bleeding heavily and clotting. i finally went to a gyno who did a lap and found nothing, so told me it was stress and take some otc stomach meds! i switched docs and took lupron-and felt great after the initial side effects. i had a mirena put in and went on my way after the lupron, since the dr. wasnt very informative past that. meanwhile, no matter what i do i can;t seem to lose weight so combined with the 'it's in your head' attitude i stayed away from dr.'s for a while. with the mirena i eventually have stopped bleeding so much and the pain is not as constant, but still there, so i've been able to coast for a year or so. i switched insurance and went back to a ob/gyn that i trust who strongly suspected adeno after an exam, but made it clear a hyst was my choice, not a necessity, and to let him know when i am ready. he also assured me he would do it vaginally to minimize cutting. i also had a physical with an internist and a colonoscopy to rule out all else. my symptoms currently are: bloated 'bowling ball in my pelvis' feeling, often leading to lower back and sometimes down my leg lower pelvic cramps complete fatigue around my period sometimes constipated/diarrhea with my period sharp pain on my lower right or left side, mostly on the right. acne (worse then my teenager!)-started about a year ago CANNOT lose weight b/c i work in a school system i feel bound to have the surgery in the summer so it doesnt interfere with work--so i feel like i have to make the decision now, or wait another year. i DO have 4 healthy children and don't plan on more (i'm 35), but it's still such a big decision, and i'd love some reassurance it will actually help. i could keep going this way---but not if there;s really a solution out there! i suspect a hormone imbalance too, but my obgyn pointed out with the uterus out of the way he could have more success identifying what else is going on, since it seems obvious my pain is uterine in nature. sorry this is so long but i hope someone with a similar history can help me out! thanks for reading!
