Re: Colonoscopy to check for endo?

Hi Mickey,

I had a colonoscopy because of some bowel problems I was having during my period. My GI doctor said that she has only seen 1 case where endo was visible during a colonoscopy. That's because the endo grows on the outside of your bowel. It would have to be very bad to work its way into the inner layer of your bowel.

My colonoscopy ended up being normal except for a small area where the doctor said it looked like there was something "pushing" on my bowel. However, a few months later, my excision surgery revealed stage IV endo with a bowel resection necessary.

Good luck~ Ally
