Hi Wen

First of all I am so sorry to hear about your miscarraige my heart goes out to you, i also suffered one in December after my first IVF and again last month after a frozen cycle so i completely understand how you feel. I have severe endo and my tubes are completely blocked so im told IVF is my only option although i still live hope that it will happen naturally!

Firstly I do understand your panic I too feel like that, its like a constant race againt the endo which is a never ending extra amount of stress and pressure on top of trying to concieve. Speaking from experience with fertility testing I would suggest to go ahead with the tests just for peace of mind, hopefully all is ok but better to know now so things can be sorted out and basically just have fun trying in the meantime, also remember the fact that you have already achieved pregancy is a very good sign. The first of the fertility tests are blood tests which are to check your hormone levels and ovulation, these tests are taken at specific times during your cycle, your partners sperm levels will be also checked and the later tests would be to see if you are rejecting your partners sperm (which doesnt seem to be a problem in your case thank God) and scans on your womb and ovaries. It would be no harm to specifically ask to get your thyroid gland checked to see if its under or over active as its very common in women who are finding it difficult to concieve or who have had m/c, its easily resolved by taking daily tablets to bring it back to normal.

Remember the more you panic the more the body stresses which can delay things, you have wonderful hope that you can get pregnant again but putting your mind and body under such strain is not a good thing ive learned that the hard way, also remember you are probably still grieving and the body needs time to heal physically and emotionally. I completely understand your fears of the endo returning, if it is the case it can be managed through diet and acupuncture so alls not lost in that sense. I am currently doing acupuncture which i find really helps my anxiety and stress and it can double the chances of conception, it prepares the body for pregnancy and can help prevent miscarraiges so its worth a try. My acupuncturist is also does chinese herbal medicine and I am starting a course of herbal medicine next week to help maintain/reduce the endo as I am going to wait another few months before starting the next IVF to give my own body a rest. She also told me of several women whom she has treated who have endo and went on to have natural healthy pregnancies, one lady she knows had one ovary and fallopian tube removed cos of endo and has now gotten pregnant naturally so there ya go there is hope for us all!

If its any help one of the things my fertility specialist said to me is that ovulation doesnt always happen the same time every month so it would be no harm to buy an ovulation test kit to monitor your cycle so you will know the best time, every month there is a window of only 12 hours where conception can take place and even in a normal healthy couple there is only a 20% chance of concieving every month so the odds are quite low anyway (even though it doesnt seem like it when you see so many pregnant women and babies going around!)

Please dont loose hope, give yourself time, pamper yourself and do little things for yourself to help you get through this time cos its all a waiting game unfortunately. I wish you all the very best and Im sending you loads of hugs and baby dust, our day will come girl.
