Re: Lupron?From: anonymous@obgyn.netTue Apr 22 20:01:07 2008
I have been on lupron for 2 full years. It was not too bad of an experience. I have gained about 20lbs over the 2 years. The hot flashes for me were not too bad. I did notice that my bones did hurt. Especially my back (where I already had pain). I also had mood swings. Seemed like there were certain times I was pretty moody, maybe lasting a week or so. I did go on Zoloft for while to help me. Then otherwise pretty normal. Those to me were the bad effects. The benefits for me was no migraines. They disappeared. Which meant my headaches are hormone driven. No horrible, HORRIBLE periods and no pain. I did go on estrogen after about a year on the lupron. That totally helped with the hot flashes and my mood. I am now off my lupron and I am now in slight pain and my periods are not really any better. I didnt mind being on the medicine...I would probably do it again if my symptoms got bad again. I have had one ovary, fallopian tube, and tons of adhesions removed before the lupron ever started. I think lupron just helps the symptoms and adhesions from getting worse if you ask me. Its not a cure. I think for me...it was something to try without have surgery. It wasn't a fun walk in the park all the time. But to not be in pain and not have horrible, heavy, painful periods...was pretty nice. I hope that helps! Alicia P.S. Sorry for any misspellings and if you have any questions I would be happy to talk! Good luck!
