Hi, I'm new to this forum, and new to endometriosis (I was just diagnosed with stage IV endo by laparoscopy on March 25, 2008). I am currently "unhappy" with my RE. He wants me to take fours months of Femara prior to a laparotomy some time in August. The problem is I do not think my RE can handle the surgery (He seemed doubtful himself). I met with the bowel surgeon he has worked with for several years, and was very upset. He didn't look at my laparoscopy video, he glanced over the operative report, and he kept mixing me up with his other patients (like adding symptoms that I DON'T have!!!). I was very upset with meeting him and I do not want him performing surgery on me. I was thinking of contacting Dr. Harry Reich, who I believe has an office in Wilkes Barre, PA. Has anyone has a sucessful endometriosis surgery with him? Did you think he did a good job? Also, how is he about perserving the reproductive organs? I'm in my early twenties. Fertiliy is extremely important to me, so I don't want my reproductive organs removed. I'm in the Western New York area, and I feel trapped in my current situation. My RE and this bowel surgeon are the only two doctors in my area that deal with endometriosis. And I don't want to have surgery with them! Please. If anyone from their own experience (or a friend's experience) knows about Dr. Harry Reich's surgical skill then please share with me. Or if anyone knows an endo specialist in the Western New York area (Buffalo, NY) I would greatly appreciate the information. Thanks in advance. I can't tell you how scared I am about all of this!
