Staci, I've been dealing with endometriosis for at least 10 years and have had 4 surgeries during that time and I'm really concerned at hearing that you had a 5-hour long operation for endometriosis with most of your abdominal wall removed. Have you consulted with another physician since this surgery? Or is the doctor who is refusing the hysto and demanding the Lupron despite it making you sick the same one who did that surgery? If so, I would go and get a 2nd opinion, most definitely. My doctor respects my wishes for whichever mode of treatment I prefer, and that's the way it should be, and he knows I don't want to take Lupron for fear of side effects so he knows it is not an option with me. We look for other alternatives. But the very idea of the kind of surgery you had really concerns me and I would want to talk to another experienced ob/gyn about what you had to go through.
