Re: Stitches

Hi there,

My stitches were red for a little while, and certainly didn't look pretty for a few weeks (I was a lifeguard at a summer camp the summer immediately following my surgery, so I had to keep a band-aid over my belly button for the first few weeks). It sounds like you're doing the right thing by putting Neosporine, but I don't think it would hurt to ask your doctor. If you put a large bandaid over it, you're less likely to bump or irritate it further. And try to avoid high-waisted pants or anything with a waist that falls right at that level.

That's my experience. Good luck!
