Re: Does endo come back worse after lap?

I guess I've been lucky to have a really good doctor do my surgery each time so that I wasn't immediately suffering again a few months later--that would be terrible after undergoing surgery to suffer again so quickly--....I think the trick is getting rid of as many of the endometriosis implants as they possibly can when they do the surgery....you definitely want an ob/gyn who is experienced in doing laparoscopy for treating endometriosis who understands that he needs to search out every organ and area in the pelvic cavity looking for it! When they get it all removed, then yes, at least for me, it takes about 3 to 4 years before it builds back up again to the place of really needing surgery again. I may start to have problems before then of course, but will take NSAIDS and pain meds as needed during the course of the month. I guess for me, it's about every 3 to 4 years that it becomes unmanageable again, requiring new surgery. Actually I had my last one in 2004 and have managed this long, but due to some of the symptoms I'm now having that the pain meds are not helping with, I'm probably looking at having surgery again sometime this year.
