Melissa,
I am very sorry that you are having such a hard time. I have been
struggling as well with terrible migraines. As for your doctor, why
would you want to continue to be his patient? He doesn't sound very
good. Most doctors will offer you options - at least the half decent
ones will. If you don't feel comfortable taking Lupron, don't do it.
Some women have had success with it, but other have had a lot of
problems. I just don't like it when you feel like you are being
pressured into something.
My advice - look for an endo doctor near you. Try the yahoo group -
endodocs -to see if you can find someone nearby who takes your
insurance. I have been to many doctors and I finally found a really
great RE and an excision specialist who are both tops. I am still
having problems, but I never felt pressured into anything. Do not give
up on your quest for answers. I think we all have to deal with it a
little at a time. I have had periods where I am pushing for answers,
and other times when I need a break from it all. I think that this is
perfectly normal and completely understandable.
Hang in there, and please know that you are not alone. Tell the doctor
to take a flying leap - and find someone who will treat you with more
respect and decency. There really are good and caring doctors out
there. You just have to work VERY hard to find them. You are worth it
- keep trying.
Best,
Mel
