I looked this up in Dian's Book- pg 329.
She says " Take a one- or two-month course of slippery elm, acidophilus
and a digestive enzyme alongside a multivitamin/mineral and an essential
fatty acid ( fish and evening primrose oils or flaxseed oil.) They must
all be wheat-, sugar-, dairy and yeast-free in order to work."
So I think you can do flax, but it maybe hard to find wheat-free.
