Re: Fired my pain management drFrom: Sherri (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Feb 25 12:18:57 2008
Niki, Hey! I'm sorry that the pain doc is treating you so badly! A good pain doc KNOWS that Darvocet is only supposed to be used for mild pain. That's just crazy to only give you Darvocet and then want you to see a chiro! You're already doing pt, so what was the chiro supposed to do? I'm assuming that the pm doc and the chiro are either in the same office, or the doc gets something out of referring patients to the chiro. I'm glad that you were able to get a tens unit for home-use! Let us know if and how it helps you. I used one for over a year (years ago) and it was helpful to me (sometimes), so I really hope that you find it helpful also. I hope that the new pain doctor can get you in sooner! My pain doctor has been really understanding to me, but there is one other doctor in her office that is NOT helpful at all. He always tries to change my meds, and gives me "lectures" on the sddicting nature of these pain meds. Luckily, my regular pm doc said that I will not have to see the hateful doc at all anymore! Thank goodness! I thought I was gonna have to look for a new one, but for now, all is okay. I know that March 13 seems like a long time to have to wait when you are in so much pain right now! Hang in there, Niki! Maybe they can get you in sooner, and if not, I hope that the tens unit will help to make the pain more bearable until then. Best wishes to you!! By the way, are you on any meds for the IC? I have an appt. tomorrow with the uro I hate, and I've been trying to get any "new" or different info on any meds or treatments for IC that I have not tried yet. Thanks!~ Sherri
