Re: Not sure if I have EndoFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Jan 30 17:51:54 2008
Claire, YEP! It does sound like you have endo. That would explain your pain and even the cysts. Just because you don't have the clotting now, doesn't mean that it can't be endo. Endo is a progressive disease, so you very well could develope the clotting, more cysts, and more pain in the future. I'm sure you know that a lap is the only way to diagnose endo, and even though the tissue that was tested at your lap was inconclusive, does not mean that is was not really endo. If it was a regular ob-gyn that did the lap, she just may not be able to recognize some of the endo, as it has many different appearances. What type of hormones is she suggesting? Lupron? If you are trying to get pregnant, then Lupron is a definite no-no! If you decide to try the hormonal route, and Lupron is suggested, please research as much as possible before trying it. Even 1 shot of that stuff can cause really bad side-effects. Sadly, it is very, very common for doctors to dismiss and minimize the amount of pain endo can cause. Most of us are sent on a wild goose chase when it comes to endo! Usually, the pain from endo does get worse when women stop taking bc pills. Your symptoms sound like classic endo symtoms. Did you say that you do have pain all month long, or is it just when you ovulate and have a period? Is sex painful for you? There are some really good websites that have tons of info on endo.
