Re: Depot-lupron - bleeding in the beginning normal?

I experienced the same thing when I first started Lupron but I also stopped my birth control (pills) at the same time. I pretty much had what was like a period within a couple days of getting the shot. It lasted about 5-6 days, then bleeding stopped and I did not bleed at all until I went off Lupron and back to my regular bc pill schedule. I do think you are right that this comes from the initial surge of estrogen the ovaries put out when you get the injection.

Hope Lupron helps you and does improve your quality of life. Some do well on it (I did thank goodness) while others don't. You can check back through the forum archives for more info on Lupron or feel free to email me direct if you want. I did Lupron twice and it kept me pain free while on the shots and for about a year and a half after. Good luck! Hope you find pain free days soon.

Hugs! Amy Meyer
