Have a concern about getting pregnant!

Yesterday I went to the doctor for my follow up appointment for my lapa surgery that I had last week. The doctor says that the insicions are healing good and that in another two weeks my husband and i can start trying for a baby. I am wondering if that is okay. I mean I know that the doctor says that i can go ahead and start trying to get pregnant, but I guess I am so worried that I will get pregnant again and get all excited only to be let down once again. Is it normal for a doctor to say that you can start trying for a baby just weeks after a surgery. Also I have heard that after having a lap is the best time to try to get pregnant. Has anyone had a lap and been able to get pregnant and carry a baby full term? I guess you can say that I am just finding hard to believe. If anyone has any advice please share it with me!
