Well after the frustration topped out with my current urologist, I
decided to go another route. Turns out the Urologist that my OBGYN
recommended is terrible! I went to a great new Urologist that a friend
recommended who went through my entire patient history with endo, looked
at current surgery pictures- turns out I dont need any surgery to
diagnose. Told me that the 10 days of any bladder medication will not
work to determine if it is working. They are putting me on a long list
of medicines, seems like a lot but, he went through each medication and
explained the benefits to me and what he was trying to accomplish. He
told me that a "remission" from the IC is possible, but it will take
some time. I feel 200 X better than I did before, just knowing that he
understands and is listening to me.
I wish you the best of luck and just continue to keep searching for that
doctor that will help you. I am in the Kansas City area, so that is
where I found this new doctor. Ask around at work, thats how I found
this guy.
I wish you the best of luck in dealing with yours. My endo is located
on the outside of my uterus so it is directly touching my bladder. I'm
not sure if you have had a scope or anything, but I know location is a
usually a direct factor.
Let me know if I can help at all! :)

>I share your frustration! I have been trying to figure out what has been causing my pelvic pain (mostly ovary pain on both sides), urinary frequency and the feeling like my bladder just feels "sick" as soon as it starts filling up. These sypmtoms I've had on and off for the past few years and I keep going back and forth between my gynecologist, primary care physician, and uroologists. I feel like I just keep getting passed back and forth with no real answers. I've had the in-office procedure of hydro-distension (I think that's what it's called) to fill up my bladder and look inside. They were looking for signs of IC but nothing showed up. I've tried Enablex with no results. I've been on birth control pills to see if that lessens symptoms. Nope. I know I need to investigate this with more tests to find out what's going on but I just don't feel like anyone really hears me when I say how disruptive this is to my life. I just want someone to look at everything instead of having the doctors say "oh it isn't your bladder, you need to go back to your gynecologist" and the gynecologist sending me back to the urologist. It's a frustrating process and so I just keep on living with the symptoms. Let me know what happens with you! Good luck!
