Ally,

I would wait a good two-three months before lifting anything over 20 pounds, just to be safe and so you don't risk getting a hernia. Even though the surgical pain may be getting better, it takes a while for everything to bind all the way back together. Just be careful! :) I will be going through this too, on Jan 23rd and can't wait to heal.
