Hi there, I know how you feel! I dated an emotional/verbal abuser about 5 years ago for 8 agonizing months....worst time of my life!

I did not recognize his abuse at first, because it was subtle, then disrespectful "jokes" that would hurt my feelings or embarrass me in public. He was controlling as well, calling me up to 10 times a day, always asking where I was. That is just not normal, ya know?

I found this article, and I thought, "OH MY GOD!" This is HIM! This page described him to a T! The next day, I told him to go to hell, changed my phone number and never talked to him again. It was the best thing I ever did! He tried to scare me into staying with him, saying I would never make it without him and that no one else would ever want me, that I was fat, (I'm not!) but here I am, 5 years later, with the sweetest, most loving man in the world!

Things happen for a reason, and you don't need to stay with him out of fear of losing insurance, when he makes you feel so awful/guilty and sad all the time. Things have a way of working out. Trust me, YOU CAN DO THIS! My heart goes out to you! You can e-mail me whenever you want to!

E-mail me and I will send you the link to the article, for some reason, it won't post on here, when I try to post it.

Sincerely, Andrea
