Michelle,

I do not know about birth control pills, but I HATE generic drugs and have had several things not work as well as name brands. Diflucan, for yeast infections - the generic does not work for me, generic Z-Pak anti-biotics do not work for me and I think generic painkillers do not work as well either. I know docs say they are the same, but how can they be? They've got to be made with cheaper ingredients or how could they lower the cost? It's not my imagination, either. I hate that we are sometimes forced to take generic, because many meds are not as good. They just came out with a generic for Ambien and the generic ones give me massive headaches when I wake up the next day! I can no longer afford the name brand, because they charge $120 now, when I used to have to pay $15! I am just no longer buying them, period. Maybe you can try to find a pill similar to Seasonale, that does not have a generic? Also, if the doctor writes on the prescription, "Name Brand Necessary", the pharmacy is only supposed to charge you your generic co-pay on your ins card. Try that! Say the generic ones make you sick and see if your doctor does can do that for you. I do that with my pain meds, so I can have name brand and just pay the low co-pay.
