Re: Pain after total hysterectomy

Hello,

I have not had a hysterectomy, but during my last surgery I also had a piece of my sigmoid colon removed and partial resections in other areas. A little was also taken off of my bladder. I noticed I had pain with bowel movements for several months and still had some issues with urination. The pain where my sigmoid is has finally gone away, but it took a while for this to happen (though it wasn't near as painful as it was before surgery). I still have pain where my small intestine is, but not near as bad as before.

If the pain is the same as before then you may want to get more answers from your doctor. I hope this isn't the case for you, I hope it is just a matter of having more time to heal. A nurse told me about six months, I found this to be very accurate!

I hope you feel better especially after everything you went through. Michelle
