Here is Dr. Cook's site that tells of all the procedures...electrocautery (fulguration) is not recommended by him. This is what is says:

Coagulation is in essence an electrical burn that destroys the appearance of the tissue. As a result, it is impossible to tell what is normal and what is abnormal. Since the surgeon can't tell if all of the endometriosis has been destroyed, deep endometriosis can be left behind. In the worst case, normal peritoneum heals over this area with endometriosis deep underneath.

I still can't find any other specialists who use the type of laser my doc is using! But, I guess excision with a combo of vaporization is supposed to be best. Was your doc a specialist? I'm sorry you are hurting. The only way to beat this is one or two excision surgeries with a good specialist.
