Re: Help.. Is Birth Control Good or Bad??

As I understand it, while taking birth control is putting estrogen in your body, it is a controlled amount which is why it can help with endo. It could be that the Yasmin isn't strong enough and causing the break through bleeding (Many years ago, I had to switch birth control pills for the same reason) or maybe it could just be your body adjusting to a new pill? Have you taken bc pills continuously before? I have taken lo-ovral continuously for about 5 years now but remember when I first started doing it, my body was thrown off for awhile and I had some unusual bleeding. Now that my body is adjusted, I never bleed unless I "force" a period by taking the placebo pills.

I don't know how much I am helping, but at the very least, I would talk to my doctor and just let him know what is going on. Since different kinds of bc pills have different mixes of hormone levels, you may just need to try a different one that works better with your body.

Hang in there! Hugs! Amy Meyer
