I think just sharp stabbing pains are symptoms of ectopic...I would rule out pregnancy too, then go get an ultrasound to make sure the IUD is not doing anything wierd in there. Is it the Mirena? Because the Mirena is supposed to suppress your period, so it could be doing that and you are supposed to get spotting with Mirena as well.
