Becky,

Why does your doctor want you to have ablation done? Are you bleeding really heavy? It is done to lessen bleeding. My specialist says ablation really is not successful for a lot of women. He says that only about 25% bleed less afterwards and the rest still bleed just as much after a few months. My doctor, who is one of the best specialists, also says that ablation does NOT help endo pain. Plus, you are unable to conceive after this procedure. Many doctors want to do multiple procedures, because they can just make more money. I do agree that you probably need a lap, but I'm not sure behind his reasoning for you to get ablation. If I remember correctly, you are very young, right? Are you willing to give up the chance to ever be a mother?

This is so frustrating for all of us. It seems like we have to go to so many doctors until we find just the right one. Had you been to this doctor before? Is he a specialist?
