Re: Any suggestions appriciatedFrom: andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Nov 26 16:26:21 2007
Becca, I went through this too with doctors. Don't let them scare you, or make you feel hopeless. Have you ever had a laparscopy, so they can see just how bad your endo is? An Endo specialist can remove almost all endo and give you years of pain relief. Unless you are constantly bleeding heavy or the endo is so bad that all your organs are lumped together, you most likely would not even need a hysterectomy. Doctors who first suggest a hysterectomy, or won't offer you any other help, are just inexperienced doctors. I have switched doctors so many times, trying to find the right one, who could treat this disease for me. You DON'T have to stay with that doctor. I wouldn't. Try and see a pelvic pain/endo specialist who can offer you more options. Just whatever you do, do not let a doctor talk you into taking Lupron. It has terrible side effects, many of can't be reversed. So many doctors made me feel helpless when it came to this, but there are better doctors out there who can help you. If you've never had a lap surgery, they have to do that to see how bad the endo is and remove it, then you can go from there.
