I also had "minimal" endo symptoms that involved really bad cramping during my periods and pretty much pain free the rest of the month. I only had a lap to remove a cyst on my ovary when it was discovered that I have stage 4 endo wich is the worst stage. I was infertile and didn't even know it, because my husband and I had not tried to have a baby yet. I am 34, 7 mos. ago I had another lap, 1 month after my first, to have the endo and adhesions removed and to unstick my organs so that I could possibly get pregnant. I was told after my surgery that mechanically everything looks good and we have been trying for 5 months now. Neither my husband nor I have been tested regarding fertility so I can't say why I haven't been able to get pregnant yet or if I will. I know it hasn't been that long.

I guess what I am trying to say is you should have the surgery, but by someone that has the skill to do everything with a laparascope if you do have endo so that you don't have to have two surgeries like I did. My first surgeon wasn't comfortable removing everything through the laparascope and would have needed to cut me open to finish. I'm glad he knew his limitations and just stopped. Not every surgeon is skilled with the laparascope, so find one that is.
