Hey Lisa,
I don't think that birth control caused my endo, but I definately think
that I started off having too much estrogen in my system at puberty
(maybe inherited), and taking the pill, just added to that, making the
endo grow even faster. I think if I would've taken progesterone 20
years ago, I think it would've slowed the growth of the endo in me a
lot. I heard you can be born with the endo cells in you, then depending
on how your natural hormones are, determines how much and how fast it
can grow. Sometimes the pill made me feel better, but I don't know
about the end result.

>>>I'm sorry that the bc pills are not working for you. I'm not sure if this will help, but I have endo and I was on the bill from ages 14-24. When I was on the pill, I had some pain during my menstrual period, but not unbearable pain. I never bled between packs, but I had to change my pill 4 times throught the 10 year period. I believe my body would get immune to it and cramps and bloating became unbearable. At the time, I did not know I had endo. It wasn't until still I stopped taking the pill did my endo problems begin. After 8 years off the pill, I started experiencing ovarian cysts. After two surgeries for cysts and adhesions, I now have another large complex cyst and adhesion on my left ovary again. I suffer from extreme bloatedness during my menstrual period and ovulation. I tired now. Sex is very painful and unsensationable. It is very difficult for me to get aroused. My quality of life is terrible. I meeting a surgeon to have a hysterectomy. I've also went through the Lupron shots. That wasn't fun either!

I just started bleeding through this new pill and I can't take this anymore. I was told its due to the estrogen in the pill. Endo tissues feed off of estrogen. At least this is what my doctor told me. I'm thinking of stopping the pill for right now or trying progesterone instead. Cause I'm throwing my money away at something that just isn't working. *hugs*
