I've had the surgery twice, but they didn't do a bowel prep. It's not that bad they put you to sleep and when you wake up you don't remember a thing. It took about a week for me to recover both times. The first time mostly my shoulder hurt from the gas but bengay really helps with that. The second time my abdomen hurt pretty bad for a couple weeks cause they were in there alot longer, three hours apose to just one. Over all it wasn't too bad. Any other questions let me know. but Ben gay is a lifesaver. -Angie
