Re: Bleeding for 22 days now since Lap.......how long can this last????From: andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Oct 2 19:39:56 2007
After being on non-stop birth control for years, I started bleeding non-stop for months on end. Somehow, the pill had screwed up my hormone receptors in my body and my periods got way out of control. If I take any kind of birth control now, I bleed. My body just can't handle synthetic hormones anymore. I think your bleeding may be from the pill and not your surgery. I don't use any birth control anymore, because I know I can't get pregnant and I just take natural progesterone and it regulates my period to every 28 days. If I stop taking it, my natural progesterone level plunges and I start having severe menopause symptoms. I am only 36, but I think all the years of being on the pill really messed me up. Does your BC pill have estrogen in it? Because that will stimulate the endo to come back as well. I've had 2 specialists tell me to avoid any kind of estrogen after surgery, because endo is an estrogen dominance disease. There are BC pills that are all synthetic progestin, maybe those would be better for you? Check out that other post about estrogen dominance that Lisa posted, it has a lot of very crucial information that we should all be aware of. Feel better and continue to heal well! Sincerely, Andrea
