Re: what is your experience post hysterectomy(partials and total)

I had a laproscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy where they took only my uterus on Sept 12th. The doc also took out endo. I had my uterus removed due to adenomyosis. You are right if you keep your ovaries you will not go into surgical menopause. However, you do have the risk of your ovaries shutting down temporarily due to the shock of the surgery. It does not happen to all, but it can happen and it can last a few days, a few weeks or a month or two. If it does happen you can experience menopausal symptoms until your ovaries start up again. My ovaries have been fine. Surgery went well and recovery has been better than I thought. At this point I am just exhausted by the end of the day. A good place to look at articles and "talk" to other women is the HysterSisters.com forums. They have an endo site, a pre-op site, post-op site, just looking around site. Go there and research... If you have any other questions feel free to ask. At Mon, 1 Oct 2007, JT wrote: >
