Hi there,

I think you had a bad allergic reaction to the Bactrim. It has sulfur in it. I am also allergic to anti-biotics with sulfur and get the same reaction, along with big red hives! Drugs with sulfur are called "Sulfa drugs", and there are many variations of them, so be careful not to take another one with sulfur. :(

Doesn't it seem like docs give you so many pills that don't work before you finally get one that does? Frustrating and expensive!

I was given Cipro for my last UTI and that worked. Did your doc replace that drug with a different one? If you continue to have nausea, do you also have a slight fever? It could be a number of things...ovarian cysts cause nausea and slight fever and so do developing kidney stones. Would your insurance cover a sonogram in your doctor's office? That could shed some light as to where your pain may be coming from.

If you have suspected endo, try to stay away from anything with estrogen in it. I know you want to stop your periods, but you can do that with just progestin alone. Lisa from this forum is on a pill called Ortho Microner that she says she has not had any trouble from and it stopped her periods. It is just synthetic progestin & no estrogen. I am on natural progesterone to regulate my periods and it keeps away a lot of nasty symptoms that I used to have. I can no longer take anything synthetic - it makes me very nauseous.

Hope you find some answers to what is wrong soon. Take care of yourself.
