Dear Anon, What you are feeling is perfectly normal. Almost all of us felt nervous/fear before our first pap smear. And, I am sure many of still feel nervous. No, it is not fun. Just remember that it is necessary to protect your health. Also, that you are one of many women that the doctor deals with each and every day. Do you best to relax, close your eyes and think good thoughts when the doc examines you. Just remember your feelings are NORMAL. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Ada
