I had my first meditation to help my endo last nightFrom: andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Sep 26 14:34:02 2007
Hi all, As some of you may know, my boyfriend set up a few "healing" meditation sessions for me with Qi-Gong Master Chun-Yi. At first, it surprised me that he was into that because he always struck me as a conservative type. He is a business man. He's always joking with me, calling me a tree-hugger because I'm from Colorado....haha I've always believed in herbal medicine, but never gone as far to believe in healers. It was like a big conference call, where people all over the world called in and listened to him. I had a friend come over last night, we put mud masks on our faces, then meditated with the phone session for 30 minutes. We are both on our periods right now, both have endo and are in pain so this session was nice! I have to say, I don't know if I believe in this sort of thing yet, but the session, just listening to his soothing voice and his positive messages, was very uplifting, cleansing and encouraging! We both felt enlightened after the session. She was so happy that I chose to share this with her. I know she has pain too. Sometimes it's good to share your PMS/pain days with a friend, give each other facials or just watch a funny movie. It's important that we have other people in our lives who understand exactly what we are going through. While we search for doctors or the right treatment, we have to find a way in the meantime to lift ourselves from all the worry and negative energy that comes with this disease. I think we have to treat our bodies like functioning machines, not just treating one area of the body to heal, but make sure every part of the body is in balance. Eat healthy, exercise, think about happy things, take vitamins, drink lots of water.... That is what Chinese medicine stresses, and I really want to learn more now. Western medicine has not seemed to do much for this disease. I know surgery is needed, but keeping the body and ALL of it's chemicals balanced are equally important in staying well. I don't think I have ever been in this good a mood on a period. :) Hope you all find comfort in knowing that there are other ways out there to deal with this disease and we can all find ways to heal together!
-- Andrea :)
