Re: Anyone go From Cobra to Medical? Just at the end of my rope!

I can def relate to your situation. I was working a full time and had after over a year of being there I had to leave. I had already taken 2 medical leaves, one due to a death in the family and the other medical leave for me when I had my laparatomy surgery in Jan. I missed more time for health reasons then I actually worked. I felt bad so I opted to leave and take cobra coverage. I will have until I pray Jan 2009(18 months). What Andrea and Jess have said is very true. It is hard to get approved for insurance with medical conditions, they want to exclude those conditions, or charge you an arm and leg for coverage. I had tried to get coverage on my own and was either turned down or told almost $1000 a month. Who can afford that? I was also told in order to get a better rate I had to be symptom free for 1 yr. How do you do that. I have endo, asthma, anemia, carpal tunnel and suffer with migranes, so I'm 26 and can't even get insurance I could afford. I would check in your area and see what might be available to you. I pray things will turn around for you. Melissa At Sat, 22 Sep 2007, Jess wrote: >
