Re: Anyone go From Cobra to Medical? Just at the end of my rope! From: andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Sep 21 23:28:16 2007
It's probably a good thing actually that you have NOT been diagnosed with endo yet, because if you apply for new health coverage, they would exclude it for being a pre-existing condition. And, if you have not had cysts in a few years, I don't think you would have to put that on your application either. Ask a doctor about that to be sure. I applied for a new BlueCross PPO plan for a lower deductible, and they excluded coverage for anything to do with my ovaries, because I just had a cyst, but my doc said, that endo is not a disease of the ovaries, but of the uterus and pelvic cavity. It's not too bad $300/mo. and $500 deductible and I'm 36. So, hopefully, I can still have my surgery, but it will be tricky to get around the ovary thing. I know they are going to f with me on it. Health insurance companies try to scr*w us, so if you said on the app that you had endo, it would not be covered. Things happen for a reason. Maybe right after you get a better ins, you will find just the right doctor to help you. Don't give up on this. I know it's hard. Hang in there!
