Re: Back from the doctors

Parts of your message sound so familiar to my story and I'm sure many others on here. I too was sent to a GI doctor where they found nothing and suspected I could have IBS but couldn't be sure. My GYN put me on a trial run of Zelnorm and surprisingly I did do better but I refuse to take drug after drug especially since being on Lupron (don't get me started on that). I've also had my doctor look at me and tell me that I was running out of options-why I decided to try Lupron again-HUGE mistake. After taht didn't work I became desperate (after 2 laps and many drugs) I said what the hell and decided to have my records reviewed by Dr. Redwine and had surgery with him a month and a half ago. I am definitely not pain free BUT my symptoms have improved. For the first time in 2 years I don't have to take pain killers every day and am managing okay with Motrin. Also, I just recently had my first period since the surgery and that has improved too. I use to have to lay in the bed and take off work for 1-2 days a month. My advice to you is to have your records reviewed. The problem is the lack of knowledge and expertise about endo. Everything meaningful I've learned about this disease I discovered myself-mostly from the wonderful women on this site. Doctors say we've done the lap so.... so the problem is they didn't do it right the first time..laser doesn't work!! My second lap they found more endo than a year before and I'd been on continuous bcp and Lupron-go figure!!! Excision is the only tried and true method for decreasing the chances of reoccurance. Dr. Mosbrucker in OR is reviewing records for free.. If you want to do something for yourself see a specialist and do not waste anymore time wondering if your doctor will be offended we are talking about your health here!
