Mary,

Here is a link with a lot of info on Femara, it's side effects, etc. Unfortunately, it does not look to be much better than Lupron and has many, if not all of the same side effects. I think it may get out of the body faster because it is a pill, but it also seems very risky and does not sound like a long-term cure. I have taken progesterone to help supress my estrogen for the last 5 years and it DID dramatically cut down on endo symptoms, but did not get rid of it completely. I still have 2-3 days of severe pain, a high fever and heavy bleeding every month, but do not have the depression, mood swings, hair loss, fatigue....

I don't think there is such a thing that gets rid of endo completely, unless you have an excellent surgeon. I am in the process of trying to schedule a surgery, but keep having to go back and forth with insurance issues.

I chose to do progesterone because I saw it as the safest way to relieve some of my symptoms with little or no side effects. The only side effect from progesterone that I get is a little drowsiness, but i take it before bed anyway.

Take Care, Andrea :)
